Copy the post that owns the video
Both x.com and legacy twitter.com status links identify individual posts. A timeline, profile, search, or bookmark page does not. If the video is inside a quoted post, open that original post and copy its own URL.
Video, animated loops, and sound
An animation displayed like a GIF on X may be delivered as an MP4 video. That is a different file format, not necessarily the wrong attachment. Animated loops may also be intentionally silent.
For a post that plays sound, choose a result with video and audio. When several renditions appear, compare dimensions and file size rather than assuming that the first entry is the best fit.
Wrong clip or missing media?
Return to the original status page and check which attachment you intended to save. Quoted content and posts with several attachments can make a copied link ambiguous. Protected or deleted posts cannot be recovered through a public-link download.
After saving, check the clip’s duration and whether it should have sound. Find the file in your browser’s Downloads list; on iPhone, open it in Files before moving it to Photos.
